Today a flock of pigeons flew in a V-formation over Buckingham Palace in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee.
The pigeons have never taken part in a flyby before but the drone program has received special recognition for updating the UK Census.
After 2 years of disruptions to the status quo, remote working, not frequenting the city centres, the drones have struggled to keep tabs on the population; there’s only so much they can see from your windowsill.
This weekend, as we’re all invited out onto the streets for a bev and an Asda Jubilee bundle, the drone presence has been stepped up. Take a look around. Come Monday the UK census will be complete again.
Queen Liz was thrilled to see the drone flyby, stating “The success of the Pigeon Programme gives me hope for a government department.”
